From morning hellos to home-time hugs.

Children thrive on gentle rhythm — the comfort of knowing what comes next, with plenty of room inside the day for surprise and wonder. Sessions run 8:30am to 2:30pm on kindy days during Queensland school terms.

  1. 8:30

    Arrival & morning hellos

Children arrive, find their name, stash their bag and settle into an activity of their choosing. Warm, unhurried goodbyes set the tone for the day.

  2. 9:00

    Morning gathering

We come together on the mat — songs, news, the weather, and the plan for the day. Every voice is welcome; every child is seen.

  3. 9:30

    Indoor & outdoor play

The big stretch of the morning. Children move freely between the indoor studio and the outdoor classroom — building, creating, digging, pretending.

  4. 10:30

    Morning tea

A shared pause for fruit, crackers and conversation. Children practise pouring, passing and the fine art of describing their breakfast.

  5. 11:00

    Projects & small groups

Focused time with the teacher — the week's project, experiments, storytelling and small-group games that stretch thinking and language.

  6. 12:00

    Lunch together

Lunchboxes open and chatter flows. Eating together is curriculum too: independence, manners, and trying one bite of something new.

  7. 12:45

    Rest & quiet time

Lights soften, breathing slows. Some children sleep, some rest with books and puzzles — everybody recharges for the afternoon.

  8. 1:30

    Afternoon play & stories

A gentler second act: outdoor play, drawing, dramatic play, and always — always — stories. The best part of the day, if you ask the children.

  9. 2:30

    Home time

Hats on, artwork collected, news shared with grown-ups at the gate. See you tomorrow — same time, same mud kitchen.

Come see a day in person

Reading about it is nice. Visiting is better.
